How many times do we look after everybody else's well-being and not our own? It may feel selfish to do it but making your well-being a top priority will mean you can be there for others. I love the analogy of the plane, when you fly on an airplane, the flight attendant instructs you to “put your oxygen mask on first,” before helping others.
Why is this an important rule for ensuring survival? Because if you run out of oxygen yourself, you can’t help anyone else with their oxygen mask.
If you spend a lot of time taking care of others (mothers, fathers, care-givers, doctors, nurses, teachers). Taking care of others can easily deplete the care-giver.
If you don’t take care of yourself, you can experience burnout, stress, fatigue, reduced mental effectiveness, health problems, anxiety, frustration, inability to sleep and along etc…
That is why this month, I would like to highlight the importance of self-love and self-care and more now than ever after 3 weeks in lockdown. What can you do to look after your wellbeing?
Let me share few ideas with you here.
1. Make sleep part of your self-care routine.
2. Exercise daily as part of your self-care routine.
3. Eat right for self-care.
4. Say no to others, and say yes to your self-care.
5. Cook at home to care for yourself.
What would the best version of your life look like?
Have you ever stopped and thought about it? How could you be more loving towards yourself and create the 'me' time you need?
I believe everyone deserves to live the best version of their life, whatever choice this is. That is why this year, I have created gift certificates as I feel they are the perfect gift that will show your loved one how unique and special he / she is to you and how much you care about their wellbeing and happiness or you can give a present to yourself.
A Flowithme certificate is an ideal choice as you will be able to use it to redeem access to the Virtual Chair Yoga Studio, organizing life coaching sessions or private cooking classes with Sara. Vouchers start from from €50.
Remember, it isn’t selfish to take care of yourself, it’s necessary!
